John Straatsma
Mr. Straatsma is an international entrepreneur and business advisor with experience in computer and IT based technologies. Prior to 1997, he was involved in the Hospitality Industry in Canada. Subsequently he found and managed his own technology company in the Caribbean and found and managed an Export Company situated in Miami, Florida.
Mr. Straatsma served the needs of Caribbean based offices of major multinational corporations as well as local enterprises. Among his clients were Colgate Palmolive, KFC, BP, PowerGen, Lever Brothers, Johnson & Johnson and Shell.
Mr. Straatsma worked with governmental institutions, including the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Finance and the Central Bank in Trinidad and Tobago and the regional organizations of CARICOM (Caribbean Community), ECLAC (UN Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean), WHO (World Health Organization), UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), ILO (International Labor Organization), and UNDP (United Nations Development Programme).
Mr. Straatsma was a member of the Chamber of Commerce, AmCham (American Chamber of Commerce) and the Rotary Club. Mr. Straatsma earned a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Guelph (Canada) and a Master of Science in Management from Florida International University.
